Structural Bites

This undergraduate studio on tectonics focuses on dualities of structure and form, structure and envelope, materials and volume, in relationship with current architectural discourse on immateriality, the ephemeral, atmospheres, and the architectural lab. The projects address the emerging vocabulary of architecture, and the syntax with which structure, envelop, materials, and building techniques are organized together with spatial needs, cultural habits, and communities’ desires, as well as with the environmental demands of the planet through the design of a Food Museum in the area of Kendall Square.
